Strong Technical Services’ roots began with its creation as a service provider of sound reproducers for film projectors in the 1930’s which was operated by RCA and owned by GE. In 2006 the business was renamed Strong Technical Services and was a division of Ballantyne Strong, a company which had an extensive history in the cinema industry. In 2023 the business evolved to become part of STRONG Global Entertainment, a leader in the global entertainment industry.
Today Strong Technical Services (STS) sales, engineering and service leverage its heritage to offer customers unmatched solutions. STS is headquartered in Omaha, NE, employing more than 100 people. The team includes a 24×7 support center and nationwide field service technician team. Our leadership and sales teams are pictured below with a map of our current U.S. coverage.

The STRONG NOC
The STRONG NOC is the backbone of our Customer Support and unmatched in the industry.
2010 – Launched the Network Operations Center (NOC) to support the VPF programs, helping cinemas transition from 35mm film to digital projection.
2013 – STS acquired Sony Cinema Support, expanding technical capabilities and service reach.
2017 – Introduced the StrongMS Customer Portal, streamlining support and service management for clients.
2018 – Rolled out Strong Signage, enhancing digital signage solutions across partner locations.
2020 – Launched KDM Delivery, simplifying and securing key delivery for digital content.
2021 – Expanded international operations to Australia and New Zealand.
2022 – Launched Content Management Operations to streamline booth operations, taking ownership of daily tasks and enabling management to focus on enhancing guest experiences across 1,145 screens.
2024 – Integrated iBooth functionality into the Sync platform, boosting operational efficiency.
2025 – Announced the upcoming release of Sync, the rebranded evolution of StrongMS.
The STRONG NOC currently supports over 4100 auditoriums and has had a global presence by providing support for the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and many of the Caribbean countries over the past 15 years. The NOC is led by Joe Renaldi, who has been with the NOC since its inception. Having held every position within the NOC, Joe brings a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and expectations. Our Lead Technician, Brian Kelley, brings over 26 years of experience in the cinema industry. He is also a senior member of both the Sony Cinema Support team and the DLP support team. Our other Lead Technician, Cameron Gray, oversees the Content Management Operations team. An industry veteran with over 29 years of experience, Cameron has held key roles in Cinema Operations, as a Service Technician, and as a NOC Agent. Our Tier One NOC Agents bring an average of 10.4 years of industry experience, while our Tier Two Agents average an impressive 23.6 years. The NOC boasts a strong team retention rate, with an average tenure of 10.8 years.
