SR-1000 digital cinema media server

GDC is recognized globally as a leader in Integrated Media Block (IMB) technology. The SR-1000 is the company’s sixth-generation digital cinema media server, designed for near-zero maintenance and minimal total cost of ownership. With its future-proof, flexible architecture, the SR-1000 offers several affordable options, including 4K, built-in diskless 2TB/4TB CineCache™ storage, and built-in DTS cinema audio options such as DTS Surround and DTS:X for IAB formats.

Its DTS:X for IAB Immersive Audio solution supports the SMPTE ST2098-2 immersive audio bitstream (IAB) standard, which was developed to deliver a single interoperable audio format for global theatrical distribution.

Storage

Cinema storage

GDC cinema storage solutions provide scalable storage options with various features that meet exhibitors’ needs. Upgrade your existing SR-1000 IMB cinema media server with built-in 2TB/4TB CineCache storage, or opt for larger external storage for movie DCPs, including Portable Storage with up to 4TB of redundant, hot-swappable storage. Enterprise Storage Plus and Enterprise Storage offer capacities up to 32TB.

Alternatively, you can choose the SCL Series of centralized playback servers, available in four models, to store and live stream up to 2,000 movies to every screen.

Automation

CA2.0 smart cinema automation

GDC’s CA2.0 smart cinema solution not only automates your playback process from the SCL live-streaming library server to each auditorium’s diskless SR-1000 media server, but also allows exhibitors to fully automate booth operations with a one-stop-shop solution by bundling with GDC’s five automation products.

Alternatively, you can enable hardware automation using the GDC Theatre Management System (TMS) software installed on the Theatre Management System Server, which provides centralized management of content storage, monitoring, and control.

Audio

AIB-3000 cinema audio processor

The AIB-3000 is a standalone 16-channel cinema audio processor compatible with all major current and legacy DCI servers that support 5.1/7.1 audio formats and up to 16-channel Immersive Audio. It delivers a sensational surround sound experience in certified DTS Surround Cinema auditoriums by enabling precise sound system calibration and utilizing full-range surround speakers with enhanced bass management.

The AIB-3000 can also function as a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), offering various auxiliary audio inputs, including a built-in booth monitor, microphone, and an interface for external audio media players. It can also switch input sources remotely via Ethernet and, with the HM-100 add-on, supports HDMI with encoded audio formats such as AC3.

Preshow

Dynamic preshow lighting

GDC has launched dynamic lighting for cinema preshow entertainment, developed to enhance the preshow experience by creating an immersive atmosphere unlike any other lighting technology. It is designed to evoke audience emotions during the preshow with pre-programmed low-voltage 8-bit RGB LED lighting.
